Birthday - and our weekend destination

Today is my birthday and this morning Mr SE surprised me with a number of lovely and thoughtful gifts including a book about Hobart.... He also gave me a card with an itinerary for the next 48 hours or so and tomorrow morning we are off for a little 'tripette' to Tasmania.... Such a nice surprise. I had no idea he had been plotting and planning.




And, we are staying here...




The Henry Jones Art Hotel. By all accounts it looks rather wonderful and I am so looking forward to it.


Promise to take lots of photos and let you know all about it. Anyone that has been to Hobart I would welcome places that you think we shouldn't miss!! (The MONA gallery is already on my list)....

    Happy, Happy Birthday. What a wonderful birthday present you will have a wonderful time. Alas I can't suggest any where as so much has changed since we lived there but Kerry can!!!!!

    Happy Birthday SE!! You share it with another wonderful person - my sister (and Baby G's namesake)!

    I suggest visiting the Salamanca Markets if they are on and lunching at Moorilla Estate (I think that's the name of the gorgeous winery).

    Happy birthday gorgeous! Hope you have a FABULOUS tripette to Tasmania! Hobart and Tassie are full of amazing little shops. I've heard good things about The Drill Hall Emporium (she has a great blog at thedrillhallemporium.blogspot.com) and Karen Wagner's Garden Store. Bruny Island is meant to be beautiful too. And of course the Bay of Fires, Wineglass Bay and all the gorgeous Georgian architecture in the villages. Such a thoughtful present! (Wonder if my partner would organise a tripette to New York for my birthday on Feb5?) Will be thinking of you.! Hugs, Janelle

    Thank you, thank you to you all for your kind wishes, so very kind. And to those of you for suggestions for places to go - you are the best! What a wonderful bunch of bloggers! Just arrived back....
    Miss Kitty we went to the Morilla winery for lunch - really fab. Janelle - what a great list of places - thanks so much. We visited the garden store and the Drill Hall Emporium - HEAVEN!! Will tell all in next post! And Ms M will tell Mr SE to work on M!!
